Chord Hero and Vienna Boys Choir Music Academy Foundation Co-Organise First Concert, Bringing Over 200 Participants Together
Hong Kong, 24 July 2026 — Chord Hero and the Vienna Boys Choir Music Academy Foundation co-organised Strum & Sing SENSation, welcoming more than 200 participants for an evening of shared performance and community music-making. The event marked Chord Hero's first co-organised concert.
The concert marked the culmination of the Van Gogh Explorer Workshop & Concert Programme, in which participants assembled their own concert ukuleles and painted them in their own interpretations of Van Gogh's Starry Night. On the night, those handmade instruments were performed on stage alongside the Foundation's own performers and several invited groups.
Rather than a conventional recital, the programme was structured around audience participation, with sing-along and play-along segments inviting everyone present to take part. Participants spanned a wide range of ages, backgrounds and learning needs, including students with special educational needs and community groups from across Hong Kong.
At the ceremony, Chord Hero founder Anthony Chau presented certificates from the Van Gogh Sites Foundation to participants who completed the programme. Dr Dexter Leung, JP, attended as Guest of Honour.
Performances were led by Vocal Vibes of the Vienna Boys Choir Music Academy Foundation, joined by invited choirs and community ensembles, creating a cross-generational and cross-ability programme.
Participants' painted artwork is now on exhibition in ChordSpheres, extending each creation beyond the workshop table and the stage into a digital exhibition space.

The Van Gogh Explorer Workshop & Concert Programme is certified by the Van Gogh Sites Foundation and the Vienna Boys Choir Music Academy Foundation. A second round of the programme will open soon, with continued focus on widening access for underprivileged children and students with special educational needs.
